Frequently Asked Questions

We know starting therapy can come with lots of questions. This page is here to help you understand what to expect, how we work, and how to take the next step with confidence.

  • We accept Wellmark and Midlands Choice insurance policies at this time.

  • If you want to work on you, then therapy is absolutely right for you.  Psychotherapy (also known as counseling, therapy, or talk therapy) helps people to improve their lives by exploring the way their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are affecting your life and well-being. Choosing to enter a counseling or therapy relationship means that you will work one-on-one with a mental health provider who will help you to explore and overcome your current struggles, and to find a way to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

If your child is experiencing strong or big feelings, having difficulty regulating their mood and/or behaviors at home or at school, or starting to engage in any “red flag” behaviors, this would be the right time to schedule an appointment  for them to ensure they have the right coping strategies to continue to be successful at home, school and extra-curricular activities.

The only way to know, is to set up an appointment and give it a try.  We also believe that the fit between you and your therapist is crucial, and if we are not a good fit, we are happy to help you explore new options with other providers.

  • Our therapists combined offer a wide array of therapy specialties including but not limited to Adlerian Play Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Expressive Art Therapy (including Play and Art), and much more.

In addition, if you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) you may be able to submit an invoice for reimbursement.

If you do not have insurance or if your insurance is NOT in-network, with Rise Family Therapy Center, you will receive a “Good Faith Estimate” prior to services.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
